Keyhole Surgery

We recommend keyhole surgery for Microdiscectomy or Lumbar Decompression procedures

  • Minimally Invasive Keyhole Discectomy: a procedure aimed to relieve nerve compression by removing a disc protrusion is called a Microdiscectomy.
  • Benefits of keyhole surgery include: minimised damage to muscles, reduced blood loss than traditional open surgery, reduced post-operative pain and aids a speedy recovery
  • It may be also possible for spinal fusion to be carried out using keyhole surgery for some patients, this is called MIS. MIS techniques allow percutaneous (through the skin) placement of screws and rods using small skin incisions, without the necessity to cut the underlying muscles or ligaments

Endoscopic Spinal Surgery

  • Minimally Invasive: Requires only small incisions, leading to less tissue damage.
  • Faster Recovery: Patients often experience quicker rehabilitation and return to daily activities.
  • Reduced Pain: Less postoperative pain compared to traditional open surgery.
  • Lower Risk of Infection: Smaller wounds reduce the chance of complications.
  • Inpatient / Outpatient Procedure: Some cases can be done without overnight hospital stay.
